Foróige Newcastle Youth Club

Newcastle Youth Club would like to offer a huge thanks to St. Finian’s GAA for their very kind contribution to our Youth Club following their Halloween Camp. It’s this community spirit that helps our Youth Club thrive.
The Youth Club has planned very exciting community events for 2023 which would not be possible without support like this from St. Finian’s GAA club.

A great night was had during our Social inclusion event on Thursday night 17th November 2022. The aim of the event was to bring some of our older generation with our younger generation in our community together to play games and share stories with each other. We used Bingo as our game which all the kids and adults really had great fun with.
To see and hear the laughing and chatting was a great thrill for our Youth Club and we are more determined to do more events like this in the near future. The whole event is a part of South Dublin County Council social inclusion initiative, and we are very grateful for their support and sponsorship.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Halloween disco. It was a terrific night and great to see large number of kids having great fun.
Special thanks for their support and kind contributions goes to-

The Youth Club needs your help!
Meeting – Wednesday 14th September at 8pm – Newcastle Community Hall
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are writing to you asking for your support for Newcastle’s Youth Club. It’s very important to know that currently the club is being run by a small group of volunteers delivering an amazing experience for the young people of Newcastle village. We have one area where we need your support as outlined below.
What’s needed to run a youth club?
- Premises – We have Newcastle Community Hall every Thursday and Friday night
- Funding – We have now secured funding and will continue to fund activities going forward
- Training – We are affiliated to Foroige who provide all the necessary training and insurance
- Volunteers – *** We currently do not have enough to meet the demand for places ***
As you can see from the above points we have all bar one of the pieces in place to run a successful club – what we need now are more volunteers.
What do I need to do to become a volunteer?
Commitment
Firstly, it’s important to say that you can commit to whatever time you have spare, whether it be a couple of hours every week or even a couple of hours a month. Every bit of volunteer time is greatly appreciated.
Training
Free training will be provided through Foroige, the details of which will be presented at meeting
Other requirements
Garda vetting (which can be done online) plus 2 references is all that’s needed
The meeting will be held in Newcastle Community Hall on Wednesday 14th September at 8pm
** If you can’t make it but would like to get some information please email us on thenewcastleyouthclub@gmail.com **
Finally could we ask for your help to get this call for volunteers out to the community by posting the poster below on your social media accounts and letting your friends know.
Much appreciated
Newcastle Youth Club.
